What is bitbybit?

bitbybit is the website and CMS foundation developed by BitByBit Studio. It connects structured content in Sanity with a reusable set of website components.

For you, that means a website assembled from familiar sections, with the content fields your site needs. You work in the content editor. The website turns that content into pages.

We start with your requirements and configure the website around the agreed scope. The first step is a conversation about what your site needs to do.

A shared system can still feel like you

Colours, fonts, logos and photography shape the identity of your website. We apply your branding to the shared components and choose the blocks that support your content.

If a standard block does not meet a specific need, we can discuss a custom component or integration as part of the project scope.

Everyday editing

What can you change yourself?

You can update the fields available in your content editor, such as headings, body text, images, button labels and links. The enabled blocks define how each page can be assembled.

Site navigation, contact details and footer content can also be managed through the configured CMS.

Changes to the underlying layout, new integrations or new functionality are development work. We agree how to handle those changes as part of your project.

For your technical team

A clear separation of content and code

bitbybit uses Sanity for structured content and Svelte components for the website. Each client has a separate application and Sanity project, with its own configuration and branding.

The shared packages provide the schema, components and content queries. Client applications pin a specific package version, so a new bitbybit release does not automatically change a live website.

Our standard recommendation after launch is Website care: hosting and technical updates to bitbybit, with one monthly total shown in your proposal. You can edit your own text and images. Content updates by the studio is an optional service, available on request.

The current building blocks support content-led websites with pages, service information, project showcases and contact forms.

If your plans include online payments, accounts, bookings, multilingual content or connections to other systems, tell us at the start. Those requirements need their own assessment and scope.
